On the fourth day, there was a visit to the Cristiano Ronaldo’s museum, as he is an example of personal improvement due to his work and effort. In addition, the guides explained how he collaborates and helps disadvantaged people on the island.

After the visit, we went to the “Quinta Vigia” which since May 1984 is the Official Residence of the President of the Regional Government of Madeira. The president, Miguel Albuquerque, received the group of students and teachers at the Town Hall and invited them to a lunch. The students had the opportunity to talk with the President and share their experiences.

After lunch, they visited the Social Inclusion Centre of Madeira, which opened its doors only one week before the visit. This center welcomes users of the Deep Deficiency Center of São Roque, as well as users of all Occupational Activity Centers (CAOs) of Funchal. In fact, multiple rooms were intended for the different occupational workshops that are taught there.

Furthermore, the center has double and triple rooms for people with profound disabilities. The students empathized and collaborated in activities with the users: painting, playing games, etc.

After this activity, they returned to Funchal to enjoy a farewell party at school where the Portuguese teachers had prepared a dinner. The whole evening was enlivened by the violin concert of the music teacher.

Attendance certificates were delivered to both the students and the participating teachers.

The fifth day of activity, both students and teachers took a catamaran ride through the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Then, teachers from the three different countries met to evaluate the experience, exchange ideas and suggest improvement proposals. Finally, the dates of the last transnational meeting were discussed and agreed, as it will take place between May 8 and 11 in Sicily, Italy.
