This was also a very intense day. We met very early at school, our usual meeting point. We divided the students and teachers in two different groups to visit some organizations.

Portuguese and Spanish students visited the Centro Municipal de Actividades Para Personas Mayores Arniches, which is very near the school. This day centre for the elderly is dependent on the Valencian Government, and organizes activities for its users. Among the different activities carried out are:

  • Coexistence.
  • Socio-cultural and recreational activities.
  • Physical education.
  • Different workshops.

Our students had the opportunity to spend a very fun day, singing and dancing with the residents. It is remarkable the warm welcome that they gave us all.

The Italian and Spanish students went to collaborate with the Casa Ronald McDonald in Valencia. This organization has as a priority the creation and maintenance of a “home away from home” for those children and their families who move out of their usual residence to receive long-term medical treatment. This house is located in Valencia next to the Hospital Universitati I Politècnic “La Fe”.

Since Halloween was very soon, the students helped the volunteers to create the decoration of the house and doors with skulls and pumpkins. In addition, some of them filled in brochures to help in the dissemination of this NGO around the neighbourhood, as it is relatively new and not everyone knows about them and the labour they do.

Later, we visited the Oceanogràfic of Valencia and enjoyed the different marine ecosystems before the farewell dinner.

A warm farewell dinner party for our friends. After these days of activities, it was time to have a party with students, families and teachers, where we delivered the certificates and had a great time together.

The students have created a funny album to remember the day of the delivery of the diplomas. If you click on the book you will see the images.
